Sai Social Responsibility & Research Centre (SSRRC) celebrated Christmas at Jaitpur Village, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh in a totally different ambience and environment with a special message of “Caring & Sharing”. Christmas is celebrated every year with lot of pomp and pleasure not only in different parts of the country but around the globe. It is said that Santa arises on the eve of Christmas with lot of gifts and off course he love sharing and give blessing to everyone, especially children. As Christmas is celebrated towards the end of the year and this opportunity also taken up to thank everyone.
Therefore, Sai Social Responsibility & Research Centre in its continued effort of making a difference, took this opportunity to thank all its stakeholders on the occasion of Christmas by putting up a small show of Christmas decorations, Christmas Dance, Christmas Carols as well as launching of its 3rd edition of its initiative “Aao Khele 2018”. At this occasion a number of National and International level players graced the occasion and motivated youth who assembled there from 3 different villages. This was probably for the first time in this village cluster that some sport function is organized at such a big scale, the sports which were selected as per request, interest as well as survey done by SSRRC in the village cluster. The semifinals of all the sports – Athletics, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Football were conducted on 24th December, 2018 itself. It was indeed heartening to see the increased participation of female candidates from the village Jaitpur. However, we need to work out a way to involve more girl children in sports around the village as we believe that education is empowerment and sports is one of the best medium of educating the society. On the day of Christmas, the cold December morning started a bit early as there was bee line of small and young children from different villages towards the temple premises. Some of them were spectators and some were participants all of them were beaming with joy, warmth and hope of winning medals and trophies for their village. Many of them really did not know about the big names of our Guest Players as International Athlete – Shri Dinesh Meena Ji, Renowned Pro Kabaddi Player – Shri Surjeet Singh Narwal and Shri Sanjay Pahlwan. However, we at SSRRC stay determined to identify the talent in a few specific sports in the row of Mission Olympic for which we need to identify, train, facilitate and fuel the dream of every village youth who wants to be a sports person. Small children from village Jaitpur with a short training from our dance teacher presented a beautiful Christmas dance in the beginning of the event and stole the show. It was truly gratifying for us that this Christmas we spread warmth, love and hope among those who needed it most. Moreover, as our philosophy is love all and serve all, we wanted to contribute towards National vision 2020 for Olympics which means sports for all and the dream of being a multi sports nation isn’t a dream after all, provided each one of us does our bit.
