The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with fervor at school and centre of SSRRC at Jaitpur on 15th August, 2018. This time it was unique in itself as the students and women of village planned and organized it themselves with little support from officials of SSRRC. Students had been empowered with decision making abilities and this Independence Day was a vibrant display of the same.

Kite making, paper bag with tri-colour decorations and patriotic songs recitation were some of the highlights. The Founder Director SSRRC, Dr. Sushi Singh unfurled the national flag and congratulated the women & youth. She and her daughter Saumya Singh from Harward University discussed their future activities & plan of implementation after felicitation of all participants and winners of painting competition, computer workshop & other activities.

Dr. Sushi Singh said that on this special occasion of Independence I am proud to claim that we at SSRRC are able to initiate & develop real sense of Independence amongst these deserving & needy rural women and children. We look forward to achieving new milestones of further SHGs, women brigade and self defence troop for neighboring village shortly
